Valve has released a new version of Steam for Mac users adding support for the upcoming OS X Mavericks, the newest version of Apple’s desktop operating system.

In addition to bringing some general fixes and improvements for all supported platforms, Steam on the Mac now features an updated overlay check to work correctly with API changes in OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Valve asks gamers to note that “the location to enable Accessibility services in 10.9 has moved to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy.”

Another notable change on the Mac is a fixed crash involving AirPlay. Users reaping the benefits of the big-screen experience should no longer incur any issues.

Steam for Mac needs Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) and an Intel processor. Additional requirements include 1GB of storage, and a two-button mouse which is “strongly recommended” for gaming.
