Valve, the development studio behind Half Life and Portal, has released an updated version of Steam Mobile, the iOS client interface for its cloud-based gaming platform.

The free Steam app for iPhone and iPod touch allows gamers to join the community on the go so they can chat with their Steam buds, browse groups and user profiles, read the latest news in gaming and pick up some sales along the way.

In version 1.1.2, users can now see whether their friends are away, snoozing, or just busy, despite being listed as “online.” A couple of fixes are also incorporated: one for text entry in chat in languages that use IMEs on newer iOS versions, the other for a crashing bug in the chatting department.

Compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad models that support iOS 4.3 or later, the Steam Mobile app is iPhone 5-optimized and can be yours for free at the link below.
