Southern Stars has released SkySafari 3.7.2, a new version of the company’s awesome astronomy app for iPhone and iPad. The update delivers fixes and updated data for users who like to track comets and asteroids.

SkySafari 3.7.2 fixes a crash in encoder fields in telescope setup dialog, and includes a default solar system database with asteroid and comet data updated as of mid-January, 2013.

The update further fixes a failure to import data from asteroids and comets that are not already in the default solar system object database, and corrects orbital motion for one of Saturn's moons which has the name of a female character in the old TV show Friends.

Timers are also fixed, and the Orbit button is now disabled while performing animated panning.

SkySafari is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. It requires iOS 4.3 and displays natively on the iPhone 5 and iPad mini.
