A research note from Amit Daryanani of RBC Capital Markets says the firm has received word that Apple plans to launch “multiple new phones” between June and July this year.

Obtained by AppleInsider, the research note says, “The low-end iPhone will have the same 4-inch form factor as the iPhone 5, but will have a plastic casing and no Retina display.”

Does Daryanani seriously believe Apple will downgrade the visual experience on its hottest selling product? It’s a rhetorical question. Obviously, he does.

According to the same research note, this price cut in components will result in billions in revenue. Last time we checked, Apple was all about value. We tend to believe Tim Cook when he says he will continue what the late Steve Jobs started.

Daryanani also expects Apple to throw in two new iPads this year, and he says the rumored iTV and iWatch products are “likely” to materialize, but the launch date is highly unclear – something we nailed ourselves without a degree in Daryanani’s field.
