Rhapsody International Inc. has announced an iPhone 5-compatible version of the company’s iOS client for discovering and streaming high-quality music on the go.

Rhapsody is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad, and requires iOS 4.3 or later.

The app is now optimized for iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th generation players, which means it displays full-screen, delivering more content with each tap.

Rhapsody is a major subscription-based music streaming service which offers access to millions of songs, ad-free high fidelity audio, editorially-curated staff picks, new releases every Tuesday, and the ability to download and listen to your favorite albums, songs and playlists offline.

Artist-themed radio stations can be saved to the users’ library, and the Facebook integration lets users publish and share their music with the world.

iDevice owners who don’t have a Rhapsody subscription can download the free app and apply for a 30-day free trial with unlimited hours of listening.
