Reading applications are a dime a dozen but few offer a cleaner interface than Readability, a universal app for iPhone and iPad. Available as a free download from the iTunes App Store, Readability 1.2.4 comes with a number of improvements and fixes.

With the Readability app users can catch up on their reading offline, by saving content via the add-on for their web browser.

Avid users of Readability will notice an improved signup process in version 1.2.4, as well as smoother navigation across the app’s menus, says the developer. The app properly clears media cache on article re-download, and displays full-screen on the fifth-generation iPod touch.

To save articles to Readability, users must also visit www.readability.com via their existing web browser and install the free Readability add-on.

The app is compatible with all iDevices supported under iOS 5.0 or later and is also optimized for iPhone 5.
