The project in question was, in fact, Steve Jobs’ family yacht

French designer Philippe Starck is not working with Apple on a “revolutionary” product, as reported by the media late last week. He was only involved with Jobs’ family yacht, according to reports.

Quotations from Starck’s interview with France Info gave birth to speculation that Apple was coming out with something big in about 8 months, but that’s not the case, according to both Apple and Starck.

Spokespersons for the two parties clarified for the Wall Street Journal that there aren’t any projects being worked on that involve the renowned french designer and any upcoming Apple product.

Apple declined to speculate on what Starck may have been talking about in the aforementioned radio interview, while a spokeswoman for Starck told the WSJ that Jobs has worked together with Starck on a family yacht.

“It’s not a project with Apple. It’s a private project that began with Steve Jobs and that has been taken over by his wife,” the spokeswoman said.
