Phil Schiller is telling his former colleague, Tony Fadell, that he no longer wants to be buddies. That’s what we’re left to assume after learning that Schiller unfollowed the Nest co-founder after being engulfed by Google.

Earlier this week we reported that Google had announced plans to acquire Nest, a company co-created by Tony Fadell, a former Apple staffer widely regarded as “the father of the iPod.”

As part of the acquisition, Fadell and around 200 other former Apple employees will be working with/for Google.

Just a few days after the acquisition plans were announced, Apple’s marketing chief, Phil Schiller, unfollowed the Nest co-founder on Twitter, in what can be regarded as an unfriending request on behalf of Schiller.

The move isn’t surprising, considering Schiller’s marketing-centric role within Apple.
