Customers are tough to please, and sometimes they don’t even know they want something until they’re handed the finished product. YouTuber UrAvgConsumer decided to ask around. Holding an iPhone 6 mockup in his hands, he hit the great outdoors to scout some impressions.

The 6:38-minute clip embedded below is pretty much all the confirmation you need that people don’t know what the heck they want. The guy who has no money says he won’t buy it because he’s broke, while the dude who owns Apple’s entire product lineup says he’ll buy it in a heartbeat.

As unnatural as it may sound, females were less enticed by size, while some of the males would blurt out “yeah, I’ll buy it for sure” simply to prove they’re willing to be up to speed. Some say they’re happy with their current 4-inch iPhones, but then later on in the interview they say stuff like “I need a new phone anyway, so I’ll probably go out and buy it,” while others complimented the phone on its lightness. Apparently, they didn’t know it had no parts inside.

So what’s the conclusion here? Well, for one thing, this here video shows customer behavior at its finest. Had the author been holding a phone that actually powered on, those answers would have surely been different.

And let’s not forget the price factor. If the deal sounds right, you don’t even have to need the product to feel enticed to buy it. It’s human nature. This video doesn’t prove a thing.
