Maintenance utility OnyX, from Titanium Software, just got a new update today featuring improvements to areas like log deleting and cache clearing, but also new options like deleting the contents of the Xcode DerivedData folder.

Titanium Software offers OnyX as a free download and there are many versions available for OS X installments as old as time itself. The latest version, OnyX 2.8.4, is for OS X 10.8 and OS X 10.9 only, and requires an Intel processor.

Updated earlier today, the program offers improved log deleting, improved deleting of the diagnostic reports, improved cache clearing, bug fixes for trash emptying, improved Help menus, etc.

Probably the biggest addition is the new option to erase the contents of the Xcode DerivedData folder from the Cleaning > User pane. There’s also the new ability to hide the logo in the login window. The System Image Utility application has been added to the Utilities > Applications pane, and the turn on/turn off Leopard style interface option has been eliminated, so if you’re not ready to give that up, better refrain from updating.

Remember to download OnyX 2.8.4 only on Intel systems running Mountain Lion or Mavericks, and if you’re looking to grab a version for an older OS X version, Softpedia has you covered with over half a dozen different builds.
