Apple’s recently-updated Mountain Lion Developer Preview 3 features at least one enhancement that hits you in the face the first time you access your notifications.

Notification Center, a feature borrowed from iOS, now offers the ability to hang a “do not disturb” sign which allows users to block incoming alerts and banners. Originally discovered by 9to5mac, this is the first and only documented change in OS X Mountain Lion DP 3 so far.

Mountain Lion employs several features inspired from iOS, including Game Center, Notes, Reminders, iMessage and others. The updated Mac OS is scheduled to ship later this summer, but not before a final showcase at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
