Users can either uninstall the software or disable sync icons as a workaround

Multiple forum threads on Apple Support Communities confirm that Mavericks is suffering from an incompatibility issue with Google Drive, the popular cloud service used by millions worldwide.

While some would entice you to just switch to Dropbox as a resolution, I won’t go down that road, since I know how much a person can get attached to their preferred cloud service. It’s like telling someone to stop using Windows and just switch to Mac, or vice versa.

If Finder crashes on you too, don’t be alarmed. You won’t have to give up Google Drive and move your digital life onto someone else’s servers. But you may have to uninstall the desktop client temporarily. You know, until good old Google comes up with a patch.

Another workaround, which I think you’ll prefer, is to simply disable the sync icon that tells you a transfer has been completed.
