Apple has seeded the ninth beta of OS X 10.8.3, a new incremental update to the company’s Mountain Lion operating system. A final release date (for end customers) is not available.

The tech giant headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California has strangely released yet another beta of OS X 10.8.3 less than a week after the last seeding.

A developer tells us the build is almost identical to its predecessor. Apple lists the same Wi-Fi improvements and an identical set of focus areas: AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, Graphics Drivers, and Safari.

OS X 10.8.3 is the third maintenance and security update planned for Mountain Lion. The update is mainly geared towards patching bugs, including vulnerabilities that may hinder the system’s security.

Notably, Apple has tested OS X 10.8.3 a lot more thoroughly than previous OS X updates.
