Nuance Communications, Inc., whose voice recognition technology partially powers Siri, has announced the release of a new Swype keyboard for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users.

Swype is now at version 1.1 and supports all iDevices known to man. Excluding iPods that only play music, of course. The new version is available in more than 20 languages, including English, Bokmål, Norwegian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish.

It also offers intelligent Emoji support in six different languages, namely English (US), English (UK), French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

“Stoked about the upcoming game this weekend? When you message your friends about your excitement, Swype will now automatically suggest the right emoji. Swype will predict emojis based on the words you enter – so if you’re feeling happy, confused, tenacious or satisfied, Swype’s got just the right emoji for you,” the company explains.

Other new stuff includes an improved iPad layout, a customizable keyboard layout (QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY), sounds on key presses, and a convenient auto-space option.

You can download Swype from the iTunes App Store for $0.99 in the United States and for €0.89 in Europe. The minimum firmware requirement is iOS 8, because third-party keyboards aren’t supported on older firmware.
