Nuance Communications, Inc. has announced Dragon Dictate 4 for Mac, the latest version of the company’s voice recognition and dictation software. Version 4 is said to be the most powerful, accurate, and personalized voice recognition tool available for the Mac today.

Dragon Dictate 4 has improved accuracy thanks to a new speech recognition technology. It offers the ability to transcribe text from any single speaker’s pre-recorded audio file and lets users control their Gmail inbox in a browser with voice commands.

Dragon Dictate 4 is a 64-bit application, which enables higher performance and improved memory management, and includes features from Nuance MacSpeech Scribe that allows transcribing text from pre-recorded MP3s, MP4s, and WAV files.

The updated software supports Full Text Control in Apple’s Pages application (version 4.3) from the iWork suite.

Interested parties can buy the English version of Dragon Dictate 4 by plucking out $199.99 (€145.29) on www.nuance.com, or at Nuance’s reseller partners and software retailers. Boxed copies will also be available soon. Find the press release containing the original announcement embedded below.
