14 DAY TRIAL // Finnish cellphone maker Nokia has announced the end of the Nokia Software Updater for Mac trial, noting that the company has received invaluable feedback in the past 1½ years. Nokia thanks everyone who has participated in the beta, and continues to offer the installer as a free download.
The Nokia Software Updater for Mac is an application designed by Nokia to update device software through a Mac. “Although development on the Mac version is not continuing, the application will continue to work and we will leave the installer in place as well,” said the company.
Nokia fails to say when (or if) the company will release the final version of the software to the Mac user base. Last updated on March 21, 2012, Nokia Software Updater 3.0.671 for Mac OS X includes support for Nokia Belle.
Other device models supported by the application include 5230, 5730, 5800, 6700, 6710, C5–03, C6, C6-01, C7, E52, E7-00, E72, N78, N8, N97, N97 mini, Nokia 500, Nokia 5530 Xpress Music, Nokia 700, Nokia 701, X5, X6, and X7-00.
