It’s official. The code-savvy team behind evasi0n is not burning the midnight oil to release a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system powering iPhones and iPads worldwide.

Responding to a jailbreak-related question from one of his Twitter followers, French hacking guru pod2g had this to say: “we are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts [sic] for a minimal update. We're waiting for a major release.”

So there you have it folks. The hackers have iOS 7 on their radar. But it’s not all bad news. As you’ll recall, Joshua Hill (@p0sixninja) recently claimed to have discovered all the needed exploits for the next iOS jailbreak.

Some have pondered the possibility of seeing an updated evasi0n tool with iOS 6.1.3 support containing Hill’s exploits. However, today’s news from pod2g will undoubtedly put the kibosh on any such speculation.
