14 DAY TRIAL // Pioneer Electronics has released new AirPlay music systems that work with Apple’s iOS devices. All three models feature Pioneer’s Wireless Direct technology, which allows the speaker to act as its own Wi-Fi access point.
The new XW-SMA1, XW-SMA3 and XW-SMA4 are all equipped with the latest wireless technologies, including Apple’s AirPlay, DLNA 1.5 and Wireless Direct, Pioneer said. Renowned Pioneer sound engineer Andrew Jones specifically tuned them to provide high volume output with excellent sound quality, according to the company.
The XW-SMA1 system employs dual 3-inch speakers and a ¾-inch soft dome tweeter. It uses a tuned bass reflex port to enhance bass response. The XW-SMA3 adds a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and a tough exterior, whereas the XW-SMA4 offers five speakers, a dedicated 4-inch subwoofer and dual ¾-inch soft dome tweeters.
