Released earlier this month, National Geographic Today has been giving users some headaches, especially on older devices. The developers have issued an update today, fixing some of those bugs, while introducing a few tweaks as well.

National Geographic Today 1.1 fixes memory issues that caused problems on older tablets. It improves caching behavior, and includes a fix for videos that were playing without sound. The developers also tightened up navigation through the tape and caption box behavior for Featured Photos, and improved messaging for lack of connectivity.

The daily bar navigation is much improved too - “users may now tap the NatGeo logo to toggle the full week view,” according to the change log. Numerous other bug fixes and improvements have been implemented as well.
