Tariq joins Apple after leading Burberry and Nike's social media departments

Apple lacks a good social media department. The company has numerous Twitter accounts, especially related to iTunes and other similar services, but the way they promote some of the stuff needs a better brain or a central idea and guidelines.

Their YouTube and Facebook accounts are very limited and there are some other Twitter accounts that belong to the big wigs at Apple: Tim Cook, Angela Ahrendts, Phil Schiller, and Eddy Cue.

According to 9to5mac, Apple just hired Musa Tariq to lead its social media efforts.

Musa Tariq has been in charge of similar departments for both Nike and Burberry. Besides that, at Nike he was the guy mandated to lead the company's interactions and partnerships with athletes. That was apparently very productive, since Nike had some of the best commercials when it came to getting sports-related people involved.

He recently accepted the position of Digital Marketing Manager at Apple and moved to Cupertino, California. In a tweet posted on Monday, Tariq compared Apple with his new school.

Musa Tariq has already confirmed his new position at Apple in his Twitter profile description. The cited source makes a note of Tariq's most interesting online campaigns. He was in charge of several Burberry ideas and Nike's teaser for their new football (soccer) shoes launched before the World Cup 2014.
