Minecraft, the immensely popular puzzle-building game from Mojang, has received its first major update. The game costs $6.99 (5,49 EUR) and there’s a free / lite version to be had, in case you’re curious why it’s so insanely great to play.

Minecrafy - Pocket Edition, as the game is called in the Apple App Store, brings a new game mode. You can now choose between Survival and Creative mode when creating a map.

Players will get new blocks, most notably doors, fences and fence gates, and there’s the ability to fly to Creative mode (by double tapping to jump).

The update further adds mobs (sheep and zombies, with more on the way, according to Mojang), a day and night in Survival mode, with monsters coming at night, the ability to gather resources from nature, and tools for different purposes (digging, attacking, and shearing).
