Windows 8 can run two apps side by side, whereas iOS needs to switch between screens

Microsoft keeps taking jabs at the Apple iPad (iOS), promoting its Windows 8 multitasking capabilities on third-party tablets.

The latest TV spot from Microsoft features two baseball scouts, each seeking to sign the same player for their teams.

As the iPad scout is busy switching apps to provide feedback to his agent, the Windows scout is able to carry out a video call and fetch all the player information his peer needs to make a quick decision to recruit the “kid.”

Microsoft doesn’t get it right very often, but this is one of those times where it nails it spot-on, hitting the iPad where it hurts the most.

Of course, if you take the two tablets and compare their entire feature sets, chances are you’ll soon discover they both have their advantages and drawbacks. All that matters at the end of the day is what you need from your tablet computer.
