In its latest Mavericks beta, Apple has included a blocking mechanism for iMessages and FaceTime calls, a feature that syncs with the user’s iOS device to block the same people on all devices.

While the first OS X 10.9.2 seed already added minor enhancements to Messages and FaceTime (such as FaceTime Audio calls), the second beta released this week (build 13C39) adds yet more functionality to the two services.

According to people who’ve tested the software, Apple is now offering the ability to block certain people you don’t like on iMessage and FaceTime. “The blocking mechanism syncs with blocked contacts on iOS 7,” reports Mark Gurman.

The blocking feature can be activated in the preference panes of the two respective applications, according to developers.
