In tandem with the Chrome 36 Dev release we mentioned earlier, Mozilla itself rolled out a new test version of Firefox 30, delivering a massive number of tweaks and improvements for those rinsing the browser out for bugs.
Targeting users with an affinity for buggy software, Firefox 30 Beta 6 describes various code corrections and tweaks, many of which make sense only to the most knowledgeable of testers.
For example, according to the release notes, Firefox 30 Beta 6 adds GNU/kFreeBSD to the list of ECMAScript i18n API supported platforms and fixes handling of tile resolution in TiledContentClient, as well as the rendering method. A tweak allows the browser to “maintain modal state on outer windows only instead of relying on forwarding from inner to outer,” according to the changelog.
The beta as a whole does more than just address some bugs. Kicked off at the beginning of May, the Firefox 30 beta initiative adds support for GStreamer 1.0, allows the Mac OS X command-E sets to find term to selected text, and offers easier access to social, bookmark & history sidebars via the sidebar button.
