After firing its new CEO who came from Apple Inc., American retailer JC Penney is asking customers to come back, admitting that some of the changes done under Ron Johnson’s watch haven’t been ideal.

Ron Johnson left Apple in 2012 to become his own boss at JC Penney, a retail chain which, at the time, was in desperate need of some restructuring.

Johnson pulled a few rabbits out of his Apple-branded hat, but his recipes for success were not what JC Penney needed. So the company’s management decided to let him go.

Now the retailer is running an apology campaign asking customers to come back. A transcript of the voiceover in the TV spot can be found below.

“It’s no secret, recently J.C. Penney changed. Some changes you liked and some you didn’t, but what matters with mistakes is what we learn. We learned a very simple thing: to listen to you, to hear what you need, to make your life more beautiful. Come back to J.C. Penney. We heard you.”

Many people now believe Ron Johnson might return to Apple, where the affairs of the retail division are currently being handled by Tim Cook, the company's CEO.
