14 DAY TRIAL // California ISO has released its official iPhone app that offers real-time power grid conditions and alerts. The app is also said to help consumers stay informed about the progress toward a cleaner grid.
ISO Today offers access to information regarding the supply and demand of electricity, including the amount of green energy being used to “keep the lights on.”
The California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) says the app will ask users whether they want to receive grid notifications (including Flex Alerts) that signal when consumers should reduce the power grid strain through “voluntary conservation.”
The software also displays the ISO public meeting schedule.
ISO Today is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad, and requires iOS 5.0 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone 5.
