Redditor runs Fallout 2 on the jailbroken tablet

It’s normal to feel nostalgic about the games of your childhood, and it takes a great deal of effort to run them on new hardware. With every new generation of computers, the right emulator for your favorite old games is harder and harder to come by.

Luckily for Redditor 8bitssince86, all he wanted was Windows 98 on his iPad. In a few explanatory notes on the r/jailbreak sub, he reveals how he was able to get the old desktop OS up and running on his Apple tablet computer, and even offers optimization instructions.

In a video uploaded by the guy on YouTube, the DOSPAD mod can be seen right smack in the middle of the Retina display. Yes, you need a jailbreak unit to perform this hack.

He shows how Windows 98 boots up (incredibly fast, might I add), and demoes things like moving the mouse pointer and keyboard input. He ultimately double clicks on a Fallout 2 executable, and allows the welcome screen to pop up before stopping the recording.

As you can expect, everyone on the thread is psyched and now wants to put Windows 98 on their iPad to play old-gen games. As a fan of the 16-bit era, I understand the feeling completely.
