It’s hard not to be fascinated by the life of Steve Jobs, the iconic entrepreneurial genius who revolutionized several industries in the 56 years he lived on this planet. Anna Vital surely agrees.

An information designer from San Francisco, California, Anna decided to honor the life of Apple’s creator with a comprehensive serpentine timeline that begins even before Jobs’ birth.

Titled “How Steve Jobs Started,” the name of the infographic is somewhat misleading because it actually chronicles the man’s entire life, not just his humble beginnings and the unlikely ascension to the status of visionary genius.

Inspired by the official Jobs biography of Walter Isaacson, the artwork starts with how his biological parents met and gave him up for adoption, then proceeds to mention his adopting parents (Paul and Clara Jobs) and how Paul Jobs nurtured Steve’s interest in tinkering, as well as key moments in Steve’s evolution, including how his foster mother taught him to read before starting school, dropping out of college, his trip to India, experimenting with psychedelics, getting fired from Apple and then returning to revolutionize one industry after another, etc.

The infographic (of course) chronicles the battle with pancreatic cancer, Steve’s stubbornness to undergo surgery, and the devotion to his work until his very last breath. Check it out below and leave your thoughts in the comments. Here’s the author on Twitter, in case you want to give her a personal thumbs up.
