14 DAY TRIAL // While browsing the App Store to see the latest Flappy Bird clones (don’t ask), I happened upon this lovable Hoppy Frog title, which takes enough cues from Nguyen’s game to look like a clone, but offers a completely different gameplay and objective.
While Flappy Bird has you maneuvering a seemingly drunk and very stupid bird through a series of pipes in a world that looks a lot like Mario’s land, Hoppy Frog is set on the edge of a big body of water where the tiny amphibian must jump from cloud to cloud, collecting gold flies along the way.
A shark will appear from time to time trying to eat the frog, but Hoppy has a secret power that can help him avoid getting eaten: a parachute. Oh and, there are also some jumping electric eels in the waters below.
