At least in China, scalpers are booking all slots to sell them online

Booking some Genius bar time at the Apple Retail Store has been proving increasingly tricky in China, and we now know the cause: scalpers.

According to the Beijing Morning News, ticket scalpers in China are now capitalizing on Apple’s free Genius bar appointments by booking them all and then selling them online for 10 yuan apiece (which roughly translates into $1.60 / €1.20).

In a country where iPhone knockoffs sell like hot cakes, this is hardly a surprise. So if you were scratching your head trying to figure out why you can’t get a Genius bar appointment (at least in China), now you know why.

By the way, the woman caught on video throwing a tantrum in an Apple store was missing an appointment too.
