As every year goes, the first iPhone model to sell out at Apple will eventually make it on eBay with an inflated price tag. And this time it is no different.

Gold iPhone 5s units sold out in mere hours after the phone debuted to enthusiastic crowds yesterday. Apple currently ships new orders in October, but for those of you who want to get their hands on the phone a tad faster, there’s always eBay.

A quick search for “gold iPhone 5s” quickly returns dozens of results with prices varying from $800 (€591) to $1800 (€1330) for the 64GB version, which is almost double the original price.

The Gold iPhone 5s is proving very popular with the public, not so much because of the color but because it’s the only version that differs aesthetically from the iPhone 5, even from a distance.
