Apple may reveal another surprise with iPhone 6: a new cable that leaves out the frustration of USB and replaces the regular connector with a reversible one. The Cupertino tech giant has published a patent on this a while back and now the cable seems to be ready for prime time.

The first photos coming from China with such a USB port were linked immediately to Apple due to the way the packaging was done. New photos and a video showed up online last night and there are new points of debate.

The photos show a box similar to the old one. However, the packaging does not have an Apple logo on it. The connectors in the box have the same appearance as the old Apple-made one.

Also, a known Apple leaker, Sonny Dickson has shared a video that shows how the reversible USB port works.

His 10-second footage has the camera moving from a similar box that has no Apple logo, onto a cable rolled into the original plastic folio and then to a laptop computer where another cable is plugged in. A hand can be seen taking the connector out, turning it around and connecting it again in the same USB port.

Apple is expected to release the new iPhone 6 on September 9 and should present the new cable and connector in the same Keynote.
