Speaking at All Things D’s Dive Into Media conference on Tuesday, HBO’s Eric Kessler said, “effective today, we will be enabling AirPlay [for HBO GO].”
The new feature is live in the updated HBO GO iOS application for iPhone and iPad, as well as in the Cinemax MAX Go app.
“Our long-term goal for Go is to be on all devices and all platforms,” Kessler said. “We will get on Apple TV, as we’ve said all along.”
According to the release notes on Apple’s iTunes App Store, HBO GO version 2.0 “includes support for AirPlay on devices running iOS 6 and Apple TVs running software update 5.1.1 or later.”
Requirements also include iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. The app is optimized for iPhone 5.
