Two of the big names in messaging have updated their apps to support voice

Apple's move into VoLTE has pushed some old app developers to take their old horses to new levels. Google, for example, has updated its Voice for iOS app, while Viber brings video calls.

Google Voice was a good app for those who wanted to call in United States for free and get cheaper rates for anywhere else in the world. Their app has a new design as of today. Unfortunately, Google chose to make it look like the old iOS 5 dialer on iOS, but it works just fine.

Another long-awaited feature is the Hangouts integration. You can chat with your friends inside the app just like you do on a number of other messaging related apps.

And since we're talking about messaging, another big name in that field is Viber. They have been long contenders of Skype and WhatsApp and now it seems they were falling behind with updates and news.

Their latest update is trying to catch up on that. You can now not only send video messages, but actually take or initiate video calls via Viber. The best thing about Viber is that it has a desktop client so you can virtually call anyone that is in your list.
