Google Currents, the application that delivers magazine-like editions to your tablet and smartphone for offline reading, has been enhanced for the new iPad.

Google Currents version 1.1.1 was released this week with support for the third-generation iPad. Namely, the app now has Retina display support, meaning the graphics and text will be crisper. The update also delivers some bug fixes, though Google fails to specify exactly what problems are fixed.

The new update supersedes the previous 1.1 release and includes instant sync, new offline reading options, international support, Google translate, International trending, Google+ sharing, and more. Google Currents is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
