Mountain View-based Google has released an updated version of its official iOS client adding an all-new design, a Recents button to access pages visited in the last few hours or days, Maps integration, and more.

The official Google 5.0.0 client for iOS has been rebuilt from scratch to include a new design along with additional tools and commands. A Recents button allows users to see recently visited pages, and now the app no longer offers to launch Maps separately. According to Google, you can now “explore interactive maps, nearby places, & Street View right inside the app.” For one reason or another, this is an iPhone-only feature.

The Google button itself has been retooled, and users will also notice new Material Design animations and bigger photos in image search. Lastly, users will get a crisp, native experience on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Frankly, it was about time.

Otherwise, the app remains unchanged. You can continue to say “Ok Google” and the app will spring into action and look stuff up for you. According to the App Store description, supported languages include English, Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, and many others. That includes the vocal search function. Download Google 5.0.0 for iOS right now through our lightning-fast QR code tool.
