With the latest iOS update, Foursquare Labs, Inc claims to have made finding the best place even easier. Users will see a score next to the name of a place that reflects actual activity surrounding that location.

When searching for a place in Foursquare 5.3.3 using the Explore feature, you'll see a score next to the name of that particular location. “It's our way to give you a quick sense of how much people love it,” says the company.

Ranked from 1 to 10, the popularity of sought places is now tracked via ratings powered by where people actually like to go.

Foursquare now uses scores that power Explore with signals like tips, likes, dislikes, popularity, and roughly 3 billion check-ins from over 25 million people throughout the world.

“And, with every check-in and Explore search, our scores will get smarter and better,” says the social networking company.
