iOS 8 required to fix known issues with custom keyboards

The awesome Fleksy Keyboard, which allows iPhone users to replace their boring washed-out iOS keyboard with one that’s actually made with the user in mind, has received its biggest update yet.

Fleksy 5.0 introduces more themes (including branded versions), extensions that let you add or remove features, GIF keyboard, a numbers row (it was about time), a one-hand mode, better cursor control, a new emoji scroll mode, a simpler way to access punctuation marks (long-press period), easier single-character input in VoiceOver, access to Arabic secondary characters via a press of the shift key, autocorrect improvements, and increased stability and performance.

“We're unlocking the keyboard's true potential with this update,” said Kosta Eleftheriou, Fleksy CEO and Co-Founder. “Keyboards are our primary input method. With Extensions we mean to revolutionize not only text input, but all input; making it faster, easier, and more fun. Why switch back and forth between apps to do things that can be done via the keyboard?”

Users looking to download Fleksy Keyboard 5.0 are urged to update to the latest version of iOS 8 – currently iOS 8.1.2 – in order to avoid incurring issues with custom keyboards.

Fleksy is the only keyboard that allows users to find and send GIFs on the spot, and it’s officially the fastest keyboard in the world, having been used by Marcel Fernandes Filho to break his own (previous) world record.
