System maintenance and tweaking utility Cocktail has been updated to add new features and enhancements, including support for an unreleased version of the Mac operating system OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks.

One of the first improvements mentioned by Maintain is that Cocktail 7.4 will launch faster than ever when you start up your Mac. This may not sound like much, but when you have several log-in items queuing up to launch one after another as your Mac boots up, seconds can add up to become minutes.

There’s more. Cocktail 7.4 adds Retina display support, the ability to change default screenshot filename, the ability to remove date and timestamp from screenshot filenames, an option to remove the Apple logo from the login screen, and improvements on the "Clear Kernel caches" procedure.

Cocktail is quite probably the first application that offers compatibility with OS X 10.9.3, an unreleased version of the Mavericks operating system. The app further comes with an updated uninstaller, an updated Automator actions and updated Help files.

You can download Cocktail on any Intel-based Mac running OS X Mavericks. The application is commercialware (selling for $14.00 / €10.10), but a demo version is available offering 10 launches. Separate versions are available for separate OS X installments, with some older ones being available free of charge.
