Evad3rs add support for build 11A466 “that shipped with some 5s and 5c iPhones”

A new version of the iOS 7 jailbreak utility evasi0n7 is available for download on Mac OS X and Windows computers offering support for a rare firmware build shipped with some particular iPhone models, according to the evad3rs.

Apparently the hacking team is still maintaining evasi0n, despite Apple killing off their jailbreak exploits with the release of iOS 7.1. However, the evad3rs’ work on this new update has nothing to do with the new iOS 7.1 firmware, but rather a particular iOS 7.0 build that comes pre-installed on some iPhone models.

According to the official changelog accompanying evasion7 1.0.8, the update adds “support for 7.0_11A466 that shipped with some 5s and 5c iPhones.”

The jailbreak tool was also recently updated to fix a problem where bundled repository package information could not be refreshed/updated by Cydia, as well as to add support for iOS 7.0.6 and iOS 7.0.5 (for the Chinese market).

The tool remains available as a free download with small requirements on both Apple computers and Windows PCs. Use the links below to grab the goods. Jailbreaking is not a practice condoned by Apple and may void your warranty, so it goes without saying that you will use this software at your own risk.
