Electronic Arts Inc. today released Dungeon Keeper, a “devilishly twisted mobile take on the 1990s hit PC game,” according to the official announcement.

Available as a free download for iPhone. iPad, and iPod touch, Dungeon Keeper has players building an underground lair with the mission to summon diabolical forces to defend it from invaders. Players must protect their Dungeon Heart at all costs.

The game is not playable on iPod touch (4th generation) and it collects data, which means users need to review the EULA before installing Dungeon Keeper.

The company also asks players to note that, although it is free to download, the app includes in-app purchases, such as crates of gems.

EA is one of the first developers to include a cautionary note regarding IAPs, stating, “Consult the bill payer before making any in-app purchases.”

You can download Dungeon Keeper on pretty much any iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, as long as the hardware is running iOS 5.0.
