Sling Media has released a brand new version of the company’s television companion application, SlingPlayer. Two separate updates have been made available, one for iPhone and iPod touch customers, the other for iPad users.

On devices with small screens, SlingPlayer 3.4.1 now lets you wirelessly archive your personal media from your smartphone using SlingSync. The feature is for Slingbox 500 only, and you’ll need USB storage attached to make the transfer.

For all iOS devices, including iPads, Sling Media has added an Audio-only mode so people can listen to their favorite shows on the go with their Slingbox 500, PRO-HD, or SOLO. The Slingbox 350 is soon to be supported, according to the release notes.

Finally, the updates also deliver some localization support and bug fixes.
