14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has released a selection of the best Mac apps for 2012, some of which were “dazzling debuts,” while others took on new features to take advantage of new technologies in OS X and the Retina displays on Apple’s MacBook Pro line.
The Apps & Game of the Year awards go to Day One (a lifestyle app), and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The Runners-Up are CameraBag 2 and Splice: Tree of Life.
Under Best Apps of 2012, Apple mentions Tweetbot, SketchBook Pro 6, Things, iStopMotion, Living Earth HD, Pixelmator, Redshift (an awesome astronomy app), and others.
The Best Games of 2012 include LIMBO, Bastion, Dungeon Defenders, Empire: Total War, Trine 2, LEGO Harry Potter, Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy, Cubemen, the immensely-popular Angry Birds Space from Rovio Entertainment, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and many more.
