Apple has released iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.1 for Windows, an update to its profile-creation software for administrators managing iDevices from a Windows PC.

Launched shortly after the debut of iOS 6.0.1 (and iOS 6.1 for developers), iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.1 for Windows likely has the sole purpose of updating the utility to support Apple’s latest iOS update.

For those who aren’t very familiar with the management app, iPhone Configuration Utility lets administrators create, maintain, encrypt, and install configuration profiles on multiple iPhones.

The utility can also be used to track and install provisioning profiles and authorized applications, as well as to capture device information, such as console logs.

Weighing in at around 40 MB, iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.1 for Windows requires Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, and .NET 3.5 SP1.
