Apple is offering iOS 7.0.5 for new-generation iPhone models sold in China. The company says the software is available via iTunes, and it doesn’t say anything about the update being released over-the-air.

Customers in China are beginning to receive notifications that a software update is available for their newly purchased handsets.

According to a Support document on Apple’s web site, iOS 7.0.5 “corrects network provisioning for some iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models sold in China.”

The company says the update is available via iTunes, and it doesn’t mention an over-the-air (OTA) version. However, the update is likely to be delivered OTA as well.

Despite being destined for the Chinese market, the new firmware supports dozens of different languages, as noted on Apple Support. No UI tweaks, security fixes, or other patches are known to be inside iOS 7.0.5 at this point.
