Members of Apple’s developer connection are being offered a new beta of iOS 6.1 – the upcoming new version of Apple’s mobile operating system – for testing purposes. This is the second iOS 6.1 beta, the first one being issued by the Cupertino giant two weeks ago.

iOS 6.1 Beta 2 continues to keep developers focused on Apple’s mapping service (which still requires improvement). Some Passbook enhancements are also noted by developers, as well as some changes in Safari.

The release notes also mention that iOS 6.1 features a new Reset Advertising Identifier button within Advertising Settings. According to testers, this button resets the Advertising Identifier so that future requests will return a different value.

Registered Apple developers can download the new software for all iDevices starting with the iPhone 3GS. Anything released after the 2009 iPhone is a go. Visit Apple’s Dev Center here to grab the goods now.
