14 DAY TRIAL // Apple’s e-reading application for iPhones and iPads, iBooks, has been promoted to version 3.0 which brings iCloud integration for cross-device syncing, and free updates for purchased books, including new chapters and corrections.
iBooks 3 lets you see all your iBookstore purchases in iCloud if you’re on a device with iOS 6 installed.
You can now scroll vertically through your books using a new Scroll theme, and you get to receive free updates to purchased books. This includes new chapters, corrections, and other improvements, Apple says.
iBooks 3 also provides the means to look up definitions for words in German, Spanish, French, Japanese and Simplified Chinese (iOS 6-only), as well as to share quotes or thoughts with friends on Facebook, Twitter, Messages, or Mail.
iBooks 3 is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later. The app is optimized for the iPhone 5’s 4-inch Retina display.
