Update improves support for headset button, fixes several bugs

Zello has updated its Walkie Talkie app not only to take advantage of the new iOS 7, but also to include some tweaks to make your experience more worthwhile. For the $0 you pay to use the app.

Zello Walkie Talkie version 2.6 comes with iOS 7 support, moved Trending channels under “Add a channel,” improved support for the headset button, enhanced connection stability when running in the background, and fixed bugs.

The free app lets you use the iPhone as a radio, allowing you to communicate one-on-one with a friend, or even carry out a live group call with your entire family, or a group of friends. The Zello app can even act as a 2-way radio for work environments.

All you need is Wi-Fi, of course, which kind of cripples the whole notion of walking and talking in the field. And to think the Walkie Talkie was invented in the ‘40s...
