Apple has released Xcode 4.5 Developer Preview 4, the latest version of the company’s digital toolset aimed at application development for iOS and OS X. The software is compatible with OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion.

Listed in the release notes included with iOS 6 Beta 4 and Apple TV Software Beta 4, the app delete confirmation alert panel now takes a while to show up in iOS Simulator, and no privacy alerts are displayed for apps that access Photos, Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders, according to Apple.

Also concerning the iOS app emulator included in Xcode, downloading In-App Purchase hosted content in iOS Simulator is not supported, and those attempting to play an MP3 sound in Simulator will hear a popping sound instead.

Developers looking to download the latest version of Xcode can visit Apple’s Dev Center here. The latest public version of the toolkit can be found on the Mac App Store (link below).
