WinZip Computing LLC has released a new version of WinZip for iOS platforms adding an important fix for users who can’t open files in some specific locations.

Zipped files aren’t supported natively on iOS, but thanks to handy tools like WinZIP, now you can swap archives back and forth using your iPhone or iPad.

While this is not the only app that can carry out the daunting task, it’s certainly one of the most reliable of its kind. After all, it’s sold by the people behind the original WinZip for Windows.

In the latest version of WinZip for iOS, the developers included a few code corrections to address an issue which prevented files from opening “in some specific locations.”

You can use WinZip full version not only to decompress Zip, Zipx, RAR, 7z, and LHA with just a tap, but also to create your own archives right on the iDevice.

WinZip full version is compatible with all iDevices that can run iOS 5.0 and sells for $4.99 / €4.49.
